Henry DiSpirito Art Exhibit

The dedication plaque on the second floor of Strebel where the art exhibit lives reads the following:

In Memory of
Henry DiSpirito
1898-1995
Artist in Residence 1963-1995
Utica College of Syracuse University

Utica College students and staff saw Henry carve "The Athlete" outside the library, watched the image of students huddled against the cold appear in "Dodging the Wind," and heard the rap-tap-tap of hammer on chisel from his studio here in the Strebel Student Center.

Henry recorded in wood and stone glimpses of all he loves, from tiny insects and entwined birds to Utica College students and faculty.  He may no longer be with us, but his art continues as a reminder of the Beauty and diversity of life.
