Before break, the Student Occupational Therapy Association at Utica College hosted an OT banquet for the 500 and 600 level OT graduate students and faculty members! It was at Danielle’s Banquet hall and it was fantastic! We arrived and there was great food, WPNR dj-ing it (our campus radio station) and an hour long open bar (for those 21 and up!) I am a 500 level student in the graduate program and it was a great opportunity for us to talk to the 600 level students and the weekend students about their fieldwork experiences. We do not get to see the weekend students often (they take their OT graduate courses over the weekend) so it was nice for us to talk to them about their experiences taking the courses we are! I also know a few of them because they were in my Gross Anatomy course last year, so it was nice to catch up with them. Our professors put on an educational OT show for us that was goofy and fun, it was really nice to see them enjoy themselves as well. I really enjoy that the OT class is so close, it really is like a family and the banquet was just another opportunity for us to get to know each other in a fun environment. After the banquet, instead of going our separate ways, we went out to the bars (those of us who are 21 and up) and hung out together. It was overall a great time and I cant wait for next year’s banquet!
