Student Health Center

An apple a day keeps the doctor away… NOT! I will have you all know that I eat an apple almost everyday and have found myself sick… If you find yourselves in the same predicament, I recommend visiting the student health center on our campus. The health center offers a variety of free services to students and facility members as well as discounted prices for other services. They are open Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00 and they have walk in’s (no appointment) from 8:30-11:00 am. If you have a medical emergency, they can also refer you to a local hospital. The staff is very friendly, which is good because I have a horrible fear of going to the doctors. They also get you in very quick; this morning I went in and asked if I could come in after my class and they fit me right in! They provide services for:

  • First Aid
  • Emergency Contraceptive Pills ($20 charge)
  • Respiratory infections including Flu
  • Gynecological and urinary tract infections
  • Gastrointestinal infections
  • Skin problems
  • Health counseling and education
  • Physical exams for affiliations and clinical rotations ($60 charge), no sports physicals
  • TB testing (free) in February and September
  • Allergy injections (per allergist instructions)
  • Prescriptions for illness diagnosed in office (no pharmacy on campus)
  • Laboratory
No charge for urine pregnancy tests, mono tests, rapid strep screens and urinalysis done in the office. All other lab work that is collected in office is sent to an outside lab at the student’s expense.
  • Flu vaccine FREE for students.
