The History and Legacy of Redlining and Racial Covenants in the Greater Utica Area
Jeff Miller, professor and chair of Communication and Media at Utica University, will be giving a presentation on his research surrounding the history of housing discrimination in and around Utica, New York. The presentation will cover some of the ways racial segregation as it was enforced in the past by Federal, State, and local governments, banks and other lending institutions, and the housing and real estate industries, has shaped the structure of the community we see and know today.
Attendees are welcome to attend in person or join us via Zoom.
