Important Info for Orientation

Umail: Get Ready for your first year at Utica

Hi Pioneer,

The New Student Orientation team (NSO) is so excited to meet the class of 2027 in August! We have been working hard to develop and plan a fun and informative NSO, and move-in experience for our new students and families!

This year’s New Student Orientation will be a hybrid model that will allow new students and their families to have early access to interactive informational sessions to introduce you to Utica University resources, allow you to ask us all of your questions, and prepare you for life at Utica University! Once you arrive on campus, your in-person NSO experience will begin! Please keep in mind that the virtual model, as well as the in-person Orientation experience is required for all new students, for both our residential and commuting students!

Registration for New Student Orientation has started & is included in the required “First Year Student Survey” you should have received! The link to the survey can be found by clicking HERE

FIRST YEAR SURVEY

Your online informational sessions will open on Tuesday, August 1st. More information on how to register, and how you and your family can participate will be emailed to your Utica account-stay tuned!

Your in-person New Student Orientation experience will begin on Wednesday, August 23rd and will run through Saturday, August 26th (please note there are no required sessions on Sunday). More specific times and check-in details will be sent to your Utica emails. Parents and families can plan to be on campus participating in our Orientation events until 5:00 pm on Wednesday the 23rd, and are encouraged to attend with their student! Again, many of our NSO events and sessions are required for first-year students, so it’s important to plan ahead to make sure you’re fully available! Most of our informational sessions will be during the day, and we have a TON of fun things planned for the evening!
