Utica, NY (03/29/2006) -Springtime brings thoughts of all things new, including, for many people, new jobs.
Utica College’s office of career services will host Career Expo 2006 on April 5 (Wednesday) from 1 to 3:30 p.m. in the Library Concourse at the college. It is free and open to the public.
The Expo provides a chance for students and the public to meet with more than 70 prospective employers and make connections in their field of interest. Attendees are advised to bring copies of their resume.
Many different career fields will be represented at the event, including health care, food and financial services, and the military. APAC Customer Services, Byrne Dairy, Clear Channel Radio, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, St. Elizabeth Medical Group, and Walgreens are just a few of the companies registered.
Some of the companies are particularly interested in Utica College students because of their specific majors, such as criminal justice, economic crime investigation, occupation therapy, physical therapy, therapeutic recreation, and nursing, said Dina Russo, associate director of career services at the college. Representatives will be on hand to give information about the companies, and to answer questions.
“Many times our seniors do get full-time, career related positions,” said Russo. “Others secure summer internships and co-ops, or part-time employment.”
For more information, contact the office of career services at 792-3087.
