UC Announces Staff Changes

Utica, NY (02/14/2006) - Utica College has named Stephen Cantine as director of career services and Gil Burgmaster as sports information director. Kelly Adams has been promoted to director of public relations and Dina Russo has been appointed associate director of career services.
Cantine came to Utica College from Binghamton University, where he was a career counselor. A higher education career counselor for more than five years, Cantine earned a bachelor’s from SUNY Geneseo in sociology, and a master’s degree in counseling from California State University at Sacramento.
Burgmaster earned a bachelor’s degree in communications/journalism from St. John Fisher College, Rochester. Before joining Utica College, Burgmaster was the assistant sports information director at St. John Fisher, where he coordinated media relations for three NCAA tournament berths and the Division I “Sweet 16” NCAA Basketball tournament at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse. A native of Rochester, he resides in Whitesboro.
Adams has been with Utica College since January of 2000. Previously assistant director of publications at the college, he was at one time the public relations director for the Mohawk Valley Prowlers. A graduate of Utica College, Adams is currently working toward a master’s degree in higher education from Syracuse University.
Dina Russo has been a member of the Utica College staff for 28 years and has been working in career services for most of that time. She graduated from Utica College with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and is working toward a master’s degree in liberal studies from Utica College.
