UC Students Inducted into Honorary Fraternity


Outstanding Public Relations Students Join Tau Mu Epsilon

Utica, NY (01/26/2006) - Fourteen Utica College students were inducted into an honorary fraternity for public relations students recently, including Christopher Giruzzi of Barneveld, Eugenio Mercurio, Victor Skinner, Sheryl Thrasher, and Jesse White of Utica. The students were chosen because of their high academic performance and class standing.
A national honorary public relations fraternity, the Utica College Chapter of Tau Mu Epsilon was founded in 1952 by Raymond Simon, professor emeritus and founder of the school’s public relations program. The fraternity’s purpose is to promote the profession of public relations and honor outstanding students in the field.
Simon, accompanied by assistant professor Patricia Swann, inducted the students into the fraternity. The students joined the ranks of prestigious public relations professionals throughout the northeast.
Other students inducted were: Hannah O’Hara, Santo, Texas; Maria Fruci, Norwood, Mass., Elizabeth Connell, Syracuse; Lena Wagner, Germany; Stephanie Burrows, Burt, NY; Ryan Jacobs, Oakland, Mich.; Mary Davidson, Queensbury, NY; and Jamie Lynn Robitaille, Waterford.

About Utica College – Founded in 1946, Utica College is a comprehensive private institution that grants the Syracuse University baccalaureate degree and the Utica College master’s and doctoral degrees. The College, located in central New York, approximately 90 miles west of Albany and 50 miles east of Syracuse, currently enrolls an approximated 2,300 undergraduate and 350 graduate students in 30 undergraduate majors, 24 minors, 12 master’s and two doctoral degree programs.
