Utica, NY (01/12/2006) -The works of budding artists of all ages will be on exhibit in the Edith Langley Barrett Fine Art Gallery at Utica College next month. The original works of more than 400 art students, from kindergarten through grade 12 from the Utica City School District, will be on display.
Pieces include photography, oil paintings, ceramics, watercolors, crayon, finger-painting, collage, and pencil drawings. While younger students produced their works in class, older students were encouraged to work on theirs at home.
The exhibit opens on Sunday, Feb. 5, with a reception from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Library Concourse, adjacent to the gallery. It is free and open to the public. The Proctor High School String Ensemble will perform throughout the afternoon.
The exhibit will also include pieces from 21 educators from the Utica City School District. The exhibit will be open through March 11. The gallery is open Monday through Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.
