Utica, NY (12/09/2015) - Utica College’s Young Scholars Liberty Partnerships Program (YSLPP) will host its first-ever “Grow Big Dreams” Celebration dinner on Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 5:30 pm on the Utica College campus.

Pamela Matt, executive director of YSLPP, said the Young Scholars Program is seeking sponsors, advertisers and attendees for this event. Businesses or individuals can support the Young Scholars program in various ways. Sponsors and advertisers can purchase ads and sponsorships ranging from $150 to $7,500.

Matt said First Source Federal Credit Union will be a sponsor at the Executive Dream level.

Event organizers are also looking for donations for the silent auction, such as gift certificates, tickets, electronics, jewelry and artwork. Items need to be in by Jan. 10.

“What’s most important,” said Matt, “is that sponsoring this event supports the vital work that the Young Scholars Program does every day – providing students with academic support, social and cultural enrichment, connection to the community through volunteerism, and helping them reach their potential as students and citizens.”

Individual tickets are $60. There will be a dinner buffet, cash bar, silent auction and more.

The keynote speaker will be internationally-respected pollster, opinion leader and best-selling author, John Zogby. He is the founder of “Zogby Poll” and Zogby companies. One of his companies, Zogby Analytics, provides people with custom research and insight for leaders of businesses, communities and individuals. Other highlights of the evening will be Young Scholars speakers sharing their personal stories and their Big Dreams.

The Young Scholars Liberty Partnerships Program was established in 1993 as a collaboration between Utica College and the Utica City School District. It is designed to motivate students to stay in school and graduate career and college ready. Each year this program serves 350 students from grades 7 to 12. Historically, Young Scholars students have a 93 percent graduation rate, and 86 percent have enrolled in an institution of higher learning.
