Utica, NY (08/20/2015) - Utica College’s bachelor’s in Construction Management program has been accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE), a leading accrediting body in the construction industry. The ACCE is a global leader in accrediting academic institutions for their quality construction education programs, serving the interest of both prospective students and construction employers. The ACCE seeks out colleges and universities with construction programs and curricula that meet its high standards, then accredits, promotes and supports those institutions.
UC’s bachelor’s degree in Construction Management is designed to prepare students for every sector of the construction industry, including commercial, industrial, design build, heavy civil and residential applications. UC’s curriculum combines aspects of technical construction knowledge with the managerial, financial and planning skills necessary for the implementation of construction activities.
One of the Construction Management program’s greatest strengths highlighted by the ACCE was its tremendous industry support. Outside the classroom, UC’s construction management students are able to gain real-world experience through professional internships and summer jobs. In addition, students can engage in service learning projects as part of UC’s Pioneer Builders, a student chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).
UC’s Director of Construction Management Dr. David Dubbelde said, “Utica College’s accreditation by the America Council for Construction Education not only indicates that our program meets the strict industry standards, but also acknowledges that our graduates are among the best prepared and most qualified to enter the workforce.”
