Utica, NY (03/24/2015) - On Wednesday, March 25, as part of Utica College’s Jackson Lunch Hour Series, tenor Jonathan English and pianist Sar-Shalom Strong will combine their unique styles and musical expertise to give UC students and the public a performance to remember.

English’s tenor singing voice, or ability to sing higher than the ordinary male range, has landed him performing a variety of musical styles including opera, symphonic, oratorio, choral, and even on Broadway. Among his many accomplishments as a soloist, English is also a part-time assistant professor of music at Syracuse University and serves on the board of directors for the Joyful Noise Concert Series.

Strong is well known up and down the East Coast as both a soloist and pianist. Over the course of his 25-year career as a musician, he has worked and collaborated with musicians from all over the world. Associated with several colleges and universities, Strong is currently a lecturer in piano at Hamilton College.

This event is free and open to the public. It will be held in the Library Concourse, lower level of the Frank E. Gannett Memorial Library, at 12:30 p.m. For more information on this event, call (315) 792-3028 or visit utica.edu/culture.
