Young Scholars to Host Book Fair at Barnes & Noble


Cheesecake Sales Will Also Benefit YSLPP

Utica, NY (12/03/2014) - Utica College’s Young Scholars Liberty Partnership Program (YSLPP) will host a Book Fair at Barnes and Noble in New Hartford on Sunday, Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

A portion of Barnes and Noble’s sales during the book fair will benefit YSLPP.
The fair will feature a book signing by local author and YSLPP graduate Mark Needham from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be multilingual story hours throughout the day, as well as a guest appearance from KISS FM’s S-Dot and performances by local musician Frank Diskin and band Kayla and the Tellers.

The book fair will also offer free gift-wrapping until 9 p.m.

Prior to the event or at the book fair, YSLPP will be selling cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory.

Those who would like to support YSLPP can also order online at BN.com/bookfairs and entering the book fair ID 11492410 from Dec. 12 to 14.

YSLPP is a collaborative project between Utica College and the Utica City School District, launched in 1993. The multi-year program is designed to meet the challenge of motivating teenage students to stay in school, earn a New York State Regents Diploma with the Advanced Designation and pursue post-secondary education.
