Utica, NY (12/01/2014) - The need for blood donations is always great but with recent winter storms affecting much of New York, the need is even greater. Wintry weather has caused numerous blood drives to be cancelled and shortfalls in blood supplies can be catastrophic. To combat this shortage, Utica College’s chapters of Lambda Sigma Upsilon and Chi Beta Sigma will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.The blood drive will be held in the Ellen Knower Clarke Lounge, Strebel Student Center. Walk-ins and the public are most welcome to attend.
The American Red Cross is well known for responding to disasters and emergencies but through blood drives, they save lives on a daily basis. One blood donation has the potential to save three lives.
To schedule an appointment please call (917) 421-6696 or (315) 569-8166. To find additional blood drives nearby, visit www.redcrossblood.org.
