Bio Prof Details 500-Mile Journey on Foot

Kurtz to Describe the Walk of a Lifetime

Utica, NY (09/04/2014) - Daniel Kurtz, associate professor of biology, will give his talk, “Walking the Camino de Santiago de Compostela: A One Million Step Adventure” as a part of the Fall 2014 Geotalk series at Utica College.

The lecture will detail Kurtz’s 40-day, nearly 500-mile journey in the Way of Saint James from St. Jean Pied de Port in France to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Along the way, he encountered three mountain ranges, beautiful architecture and agriculture, many blisters and more.

The talk will take place on Friday, Sept. 5 at 2:30 p.m. in the Willard Conference Room of DePerno Hall. Refreshments will be served at 2:15 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
