Local Banker Keynotes Executive Lecture Series


Barry Sinnott to Discuss Local Banking, International Trading

Utica, NY (04/29/2014) - Barry Sinnott, assistant vice president at Bank of Utica, will present his lecture “Local Banking and International Trading” as a part of Utica College’s Executive Lecture Series on Wednesday, April 30.

Experienced in international trade, Sinnott founded Mayflower Trade L.L.C. in 2005 and continues to serve as its CEO. Mayflower Trade L.L.C. is headquartered in Utica and provides business services to China, including sourcing, sales and import-export facilitation.

Sinnott graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Boston University. In 2001, Sinnott studied Mandarin Chinese and taught English in Taiwan for two years.  He then moved to China and worked for Virgin Radio Asia in Beijing as a radio DJ and music programmer.

Sinnott currently serves as treasurer for two boards in the Mohawk Valley: the Downtown Utica Development Association and the Vision Foundation Board of the Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. 

The lecture will take place at 7 p.m. in the Carbone Family Auditorium in Utica College’s Economic Crime, Justice Studies and Cybersecurity Building. It is free and open to the public.

The Executive Lecture Series is sponsored by the Business and Economics Department of Utica College. The department offers an innovative, fully integrated suite of business and economics programs designed to prepare students for successful careers in some of the world’s most dynamic professions.
