History Brown Bag Lunch Serves Up Colonial Spices, Slavery

Utica, NY (04/08/2014) - On Wednesday, April 9, the Center for Historical Research Brown Bag Lunch Lecture Series features Sherri Cash, associate professor of history at UC, and her lecture titled, “Two Works in Progress: Roots in the Valley and Slaves Along the Mohawk.”

Cash bases her presentation on two subjects she has researched: the colonial ginseng trade and slavery in the Mohawk Valley.

The talk will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the DuRoss Faculty Dining Room, Strebel Student Center. History Brown Bag talks are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 12:30 and are free and open to the public.

The next History Brown Bag Lunch Lecture will be held May 7, featuring Jeffrey DuBois from University at Albany and his lecture, “Japan’s Manga Emperor: Debating the Role of the Postwar Emperor Through Graphic Novels.”
