UC Alumna Returns to Discuss Doctoral Research

UC alumna Amanda Butler researching key enzymes in pancreatic cancer

Utica, NY (09/13/2013) - Amanda Butler, a 2009 graduate of Utica College and current Ph.D. student at the Jacksonville Mayo Clinic, will give a seminar on her research, “Atypical Protein Kinase C Isozymes in Pancreatic Cancer,” on Monday, Sept. 23.Pancreatic cancer is an aggressive disease with few therapeutic treatments currently available for it. Butler will discuss the role of protein kinase C zeta and the therapeutic potential of atypical pancreatic kinase C in pancreatic cancer.
The lecture will take place at 4 p.m. in Donahue Auditorium in UC’s Gordon Science Center. A reception will be held immediately afterwards. The lecture is free and open to the public.
