Utica, NY (09/15/2013) - On Thursday, Sept. 19, Utica College will present the 2012 Golden Lion Award Winner “Pieta” as part of the Film@UC.

“Pieta” follows the life of an isolated and lonely gangster who makes his living collecting money from loan sharks. When stalked and confronted by a strange woman who claims to be his mother, the man rejects the woman, but as the plot progresses, he gradually begins to accept her. But is this acceptance too late? The man is forced to confront a dark secret from the past and question the existence of unforgivable sin.

The film is free and open to the public, and will be shown in Macfarlane Auditorium in the college’s DePerno Hall at 7 p.m. For more information call (315) 792-3047 or visit utica.edu/culture.
