UC Named Top Military School for Fourth Straight Year

Utica, NY (09/11/2013) - For the fourth consecutive year, Utica College has been named one of America’s Top Military Friendly Schools for 2014 by MilitaryFriendlySchools.com.The list showcases the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus.
Utica College has been designated a Yellow Ribbon Participant, in recognition of the college’s participation with the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008 and its willingness to work the vets for academic and financial flexibility. Private colleges and Veteran Affairs team up to fund tuition expenses that exceed the highest public in-state undergraduate tuition rates.
The college is carrying on years of helping American veterans; when UC opened its doors on Oneida Square in 1946, most of its first students were returning WWII veterans. The college has also been named a Top Military-Friendly College by Military Advanced Education three years in a row.
