The seminar will look at how religion influenced the 2012 presidential election when Mitt Romney became the first Mormon to earn a presidential nomination from a major party. Perry will provide insights from his forthcoming book also titled “Mitt Romney, Mormonism and the 2012 Election.” He will discuss what Romney’s nomination means for America, Mormons and the relationship between religion and politics.

The lecture will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 6 in Willard Conference Room located in DePerno Hall at UC. Refreshments will be served at 2:15 p.m., and the seminar is free and open to the public.
