New Agreement Gives Criminal Justice Majors Seamless Path to Four-Year Degree
Onondaga Community College partners with Utica College to create seamless path for students pursing a degree in criminal justice

Utica, NY (05/02/2013) - Onondaga Community College and Utica College have signed a transfer articulation agreement which will create a seamless path for students pursuing a degree in criminal justice. Onondaga students who complete the Associate of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a grade point average of 2.5 or better will have all of their credits transfer to Utica College for application toward the requirements for the bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.A 5-percent increase in criminal justice-related jobs is projected in our five county region between 2011 and 2021, according to data collected by Economics Modeling Specialists International which incorporates statistics from the New York State Department of Labor, the U.S. Census and other employment databases and surveys.

McColgin, Ph.D., Onondaga Provost and Senior Vice President. “This agreement with Utica College ensures our students a smooth transition upon graduation, and partnerships like this are critically important in providing clear educational pathways to baccalaureate programs."
“Utica College’s partnership with Onondaga offers a great way for students to expand their career possibilities within the field,” said Patricia Swann, dean of the Utica College’s School of Business and Justice Studies. “Students can work with our highly accomplished faculty on a curriculum that emphasizes research, technology and real-world professional experiences, in our state-of-the-art Economic Crime, Justice Studies and Cybersecurity building.”

About Utica College – Utica College, founded in 1946, is a comprehensive private institution offering bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees.
