Utica College's Student Newspaper Honored by American Scholastic Press Association


Tangerine Staff Garners First Place Honor

American Scholastic Press select Tangerine staff for two awards

Utica, NY (04/30/2013) - The eyes and ears of Utica College, The Tangerine newspaper, recently received a 2013 First Place in the American Scholastic Press Association Contest for publications from last year.

A member of The Tangerine staff, Tom Baker, also was honored individually for a sports photography he took for the newspaper. He was one of three chosen for the “Outstanding News Photography” award.

The Tangerine is a weekly newspaper published during the academic year by and for Utica College students. It was first published as the Utica College News on Nov. 6, 1946. The current editor-in-chief is Alissa Scott and the current adviser is Pat Louise.
