UC Nursing Professor at the "Top" of Her Game
Brownell Named to 2012 Top 100 Nusing Professors List

Utica, NY (09/27/2012) - Catherine Brownell, Ph.D., associate professor and chair of the nursing at Utica College, has been named one of the top 100 nursing professors of 2012 by the website BSNtoMSN.org.The list acknowledges 100 of the best and brightest professors, assistant professors and instructors who are teaching the next generation of nurses to handle increasing responsibility.
Brownell joined the nursing department at Utica College in July 2002 as project coordinator for the Tapestry Project, a Nursing Workforce Diversity Grant from HRSA Bureau of Health Professions. Her research in rural health and community health nursing has been presented on local and national levels.
She earned her Ph.D. from Binghamton University in 2002. She holds a bachelor’s degree from SUNYIT and a master’s degree from Syracuse University.
