Utica, NY (10/10/2012) - The Central New York Recruiting Consortium (CNYRC) has teamed with the Genesis Group to sponsor the Jobapalooza Career Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at Mohawk Valley Community College’s Robert R. Jorgensen Athletic Center.

Jobapalooza, the first partnership of its kind, will take place from noon to 3 p.m. It is free and open to all area college students and the public.

At the fair, students, alumni and community members can connect with employers with the hopes of garnering a position at one of the many companies that will be represented.

Approximately 100 businesses are expected to recruit new employees at the fair. Some of the businesses include Chobani, Oneida Nation Enterprises/Turning Stone Resort Casino, General Electric Energy, Special Metals, PAR Technology, Bassett Medical Center, Utica National Insurance Group, Defense Finance and Accounting Services and many more.

Media sponsors KISSFM, Bug Country and WUTQ will also be present at the event.

The CNYRC is comprised of six member institutions including Utica College, Mohawk Valley Community College, Herkimer County Community College, SUNYIT, Morrisville State College and USC The Business College.

The CNYRC serves as a resource to employers by allowing one point of entry for companies to recruit candidates from all member institutions. The fair is one of the most effective methods of assisting employers in finding local talent to fill their hiring needs.

Attendees should bring multiple copies of their resumes and be dressed in business attire.

The Genesis Group is a grass roots organization that unites individuals and organizations working to advance regional economic, social and cultural interest, and to foster regional unity and cooperation in the Mohawk Valley.

For more information about the fair, contact Halina Lotyczewski, interim director of career services at Utica College, at halotyczewski@utica.edu or (315) 792-3087.
