UC Hosts Health, Wellness Fair for Area Refugees
250 Refugees Expected to Attend

Utica, NY (04/10/2012) - Nearly 250 refugees from the Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugees will attend an annual health and wellness fair hosted by the Utica College chapter of Students Helping in the Naturalization of Elders (SHINE) on Wednesday, April 11. The event will begin at 12:30 and span classrooms in Hubbard Hall as well as the Faculty Center.Attendees will participate in presentations and demonstrations by UC students in the nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and health studies programs. The presentations will cover topics such as the correct use of crutches, canes and walkers, as well as developmental tips for parents who want to help their children develop gross motor skills and proper lifting techniques.
The fair is not open to the public.
