Utica, NY (02/02/2012) - Utica College’s Student Senate and the UC Culture Crewe will host Holocaust survivor Helen Sperling on Monday, February 6, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Library Concourse.

Sperling will give a presentation detailing her personal experiences as a survivor of one of the darkest times in history. In World War II, during the Nazi occupation of Poland, Sperling was forced to live in concentration camps in Ravensbruck and Buchenwald. All members of her family were among the 6 million victims, except Helen and one of her brothers.

The presentation reflects the 2011-2012 campus theme of “Many Cultures, One Community” and is part of the college’s ongoing effort to promote diversity throughout the campus.

The presentation is open to students and the college community.  It is free of charge, but seating is limited.

For any questions or to RSVP, please contact Tiffany Williams or Sarah Seiselmyer at ssenate@utica.edu or (315) 792-3200.
