Casamento to Chair MV EDGE

Casamento lends business expertise to economic development organization

Utica, NY (01/31/2012) - The board of directors of Mohawk Valley EDGE elected Laura Casamento, Utica College senior vice president and chief advancement officer, as its new chairperson.EDGE, an economic development organization for Oneida and Herkimer counties, promotes Central New York and its workforce, as well as assists opening, relocating or expanding businesses in the region.
In her role at Utica College, Casamento is tasked with advancing core institutional priorities and the reputation of the college by incorporating the key areas of alumni and parent relations, development, and marketing and communications. In addition, she oversees financial affairs and enrollment management.
Her community involvement has earned numerous recognitions including the YWCA’s Salute to Outstanding Women, Accent on Excellence and the Central New York Women in Business Awards.
Casamento earned a master of business administration degree in management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She joined UC in 2004.
