UC Faculty Members Awarded Tenure


Nine Faculty Granted Status at Board Meeting

Faculty from various disciplines granted tenure for accomplishments, attitude, involvement

Utica, NY (03/30/2010) - Nine Utica College professors have been granted tenure by the college’s Board of Trustees.
 
The professors are:
• Cathy Brownell, assistant professor and chair of nursing;
• Jason Denman, associate professor of English;
• Amy Lindsey, assistant professor of psychology;
• Patrice Hallock, assistant professor of education;
• Zhaodan (Jordan) Huang, assistant professor of finance and MBA director;
• Kirstin Impicciatore, assistant professor and chair of therapeutic recreation;
• Qingkai Ma, assistant professor of criminal justice;
• Thomas McCarthy, associate professor of biology;
• Charles Whalen, professor of economics and director of business and economics.

Criteria for tenure include attitude toward teaching, professional accomplishments, and overall service to the college and community.

About Utica College – Utica College, founded in 1946, is a comprehensive private institution offering bachelors, master’s, and doctoral degrees. The College, located in upstate central New York, approximately 90 miles west of Albany and 50 miles east of Syracuse, currently enrolls over 3,200 students in 37 undergraduate majors, 27 minors, 20 master’s and two doctoral degree programs.
