Utica, NY (03/17/2010) - With many decades of experience between them, Susan Brown and Anthony Milograno are masters of their crafts. The father-and-daughter duo will share their musical performance with the UC audience at the Professor Harry F. and Mary Ruth Jackson Lunch Hour Series on Wednesday, March 31. The performance will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the Library Concourse.

Anthony Milograno has been involved in music almost his entire life. He learned to play the violin at age 7 and continues to this day at the age of 83. Milograno spent 22 years as the conductor for the Utica Civic Band, and 18 years as the concertmaster of the Utica Symphony. In 2006, he finished his 25-year career as first violinist with the Chautauqua Symphony. He has had an accomplished career and holds his bachelors and master’s degrees from Syracuse University.

Like Milograno, Brown has also made a career of her musical talent. She was a music education and vocal major at the College of St. Rose and was awarded a BFA in 1980 from Utica College. She pursued graduate music studies at L'Escole Hindemith, Vevey, Switzerland, in 1982. Since then she has been a music educator at several area schools, earning a master’s in education from Cortland in 1996.

The performance is free and open to the public.  For more information, visit the college's Web site at www.utica.edu/culture.
