Utica, NY (12/15/2009) - It’s a tradition - one of the oldest on campus. Utica College will host its annual holiday dinner on Tuesday, Dec. 15 in the Strebel Student Center Dining Commons.During the annual event, Utica College students leave tips for the faculty and staff who serve them at dinner. Each year, a beneficiary is selected the money is then collected and donated to a charity or cause that affects the local community. This year the holiday dinner will benefit members of the UC community who lost their jobs earlier this year.
Maureen Murphy, assistant director of student activities, believes that this is a great cause. “A lot of people have been affected, I think it’s a great idea and am happy to see the college being so proactive in such an important cause,” Murphy said.
The dinner is only open to members of the college community and will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. All proceeds made from the event will go directly toward the former Utica College employees. For more information on this event contact Paul Lehmann, director of student activities, at (315) 792- 3037.
