Jackson Lunch Hour Presents Beauty and the Beast Storytellers

Storytellers Martha Hamilton, Mitch Weiss present whimsical renditions of popular tales

Utica, NY (11/02/2009) - The Professor Harry F. and Mary Ruth Jackson Lunch Hour Series at Utica College will host the Beauty and the Beast Storytellers Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 12:30 p.m. in Strebel Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.The duo of Martha Hamilton and Mitch Weiss will demonstrate their unique approach to storytelling with whimsical renditions of popular foreign fairy tales, along with classic American stories, that children can memorize and recite to their friends and family. Featuring stories from their books Stories in My Pocket: Tales Kids Can Tell, and Noodlehead Stories: World Tales Kids Can Read and Tell, the event will be entertaining and educational to those who are interested education and child psychology.
Hamilton and Weiss began their storytelling careers in 1980 and have since produced a number of books, audio recordings and videos featuring their re-telling of traditional tales from around the world. Their book, Children Tell Stories: Teaching and Using Storytelling in the Classroom documents the couple’s passion: teaching the tale-telling art to children of all ages.
