Utica College Announces Organizational Changes
Kirkpatrick, Casamento Take on New Responsibilities

Utica, NY (09/24/2009) - Utica College President Todd S. Hutton announced changes to the college’s administrative structure. Dr. Judith Kirkpatrick has been named provost and vice president for academic affairs and Laura Casamento named senior vice president and chief advancement officer.In addition to her current duties as dean of the faculty, Kirkpatrick will assume oversight for student affairs and physical education/athletics. Kirkpatrick joined UC in 2004 after serving as dean of Texas Wesleyan University School of Arts and Sciences.
She has nearly 30 years of administrative and teaching experience in higher education. In addition to her administrative experience at Texas Wesleyan, Kirkpatrick was previously a professor of Spanish at the University of Alabama, where she also served as associate dean of humanities and fine arts. Prior to completing her master's and Ph.D. at Indiana University, she was assistant director of the Center for International Studies in Madrid, Spain.
Casamento will now oversee financial affairs and enrollment management, as well as the office of institutional advancement. She joined UC in 2004 after serving in a variety of corporate and banking management positions. Casamento was previously president and chief operating officer of Herkimer County Trust. Casamento completed her master’s in business administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
