Craobh Dugan to Perform at Lunch Hour Series at Utica College

Craobh Dugan, the local branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann, is a nine-member ensemble performing traditional Irish compositions.

Utica, NY (03/03/2009) - Craobh Dugan, the local branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann, is a nine-member ensemble performing traditional Irish compositions. The band will take the stage for the Professor Harry F. and Mary Ruth Jackson Lunch Hour series on Wednesday, March 4 at Utica College. The event is free and begins at 12 noon in the Library Concourse.Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann is a music organization promoting Irish music, song, dance and language. Based out of Dublin, Ireland the non-profit group features reels, jigs, set dance, polkas, waltzes, hornpipes and more. Craobh Dugan, the local chapter, was founded by former Utica College librarian Pat Dugan, and her husband, the late Frank Dugan Jr.
The Lunch Hour Series is sponsored by the Utica College Social Cultural Committee. Since 1979, the series has offered the community poetry, fiction, drama, and musical performances.
The musical members of Craobh Dugan will take the stage to perform for Utica College this week, playing accordion, guitar, bouzouki, bodhran, flute, tin whistle, fiddle, and harp. For more information about the band, contact Michael Hoke at (315) 827-4291.
