Students Have More Options At UC
College to Offer Seven New Programs This Fall

Utica, NY (08/01/2008) -UTICA, N.Y. (August 1, 2008) – Utica College will offer seven new programs beginning this fall semester, providing more options to UC students.
The new programs beginning later this month include:
- Major in construction management: combining foundational study in management techniques with extensive real-world learning opportunities in the construction industry.
- Major in risk management and insurance: offering intensive skill development in this specialized management area, preparing students for a broad range of highly profitable career path options in an increasingly dynamic corporate marketplace.
- Major in geoscience: a broad, interdisciplinary program comprised of geology, oceanography, meteorology, astronomy, and environmental science.
- Major in gerontology: the physical, mental, and sociological study of individuals as they grow from middle age through later life.
- Major in biochemistry: interfacing the study of biology and chemistry, this new major is modeled on a course of study recommended by the American Chemical Society, placing significant emphasis on the study of molecules and reactions of life processes.
- Master’s in health care administration: designed for leaders and aspiring leaders in guiding health care organizational excellence and change.
- Advanced certificate in gerontology: the study of health care, planning, public policy, and economics with knowledge development in issues relating to aging.
Move-in day for the largest class in the college’s history is scheduled for August 24; classes for the fall semester begin on August 26.
