Utica, NY (04/22/2008) - It pays to stay in – or go back to -- school. A recent study by the California Postsecondary Education Commission revealed some stark numbers about the increased earning power a college graduate degree provides. In one of the major findings of the study, the Commission found that those with graduate degrees can earn up to 80 percent more than those with a bachelor’s degree.

To help those who want to further their career, change careers, or boost their earning potential, Utica College will host an open house this Saturday (April 26), showcasing all the college’s graduate offerings.

The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Ellen Knower Clarke Lounge, Strebel Student Center. Representatives from physical and occupational therapy, economic crime, and professional accountancy will be on hand, as well as from liberal studies and the entire suite of education programs. UC recently added an advanced certificate in gerontology to its growing list of graduate programs.

The open house begins with registration and refreshments; UC President Dr. Todd Hutton will welcome prospective students. Following opening remarks, faculty from all the majors will be available to meet and speak with students. Representatives from admissions and financial services will also be on hand. Campus tours will be given and lunch will be served.
