Journalism Professor Takes Opportunity to Practice His Craft; Reports for NPR

Utica, NY (03/20/2008) - David Chanatry, assistant professor of journalism at UC, reported on the recent violent uprising of Serbs in Kosovo for National Public Radio’s The World.Chanatry filed his report Tuesday amidst gunshots and rampaging protesters in the ethnically divided country. Kosovo recently declared its independence from Serbia and the minority Serb population - fearing subjugation to the ethnic Albanian majority – have been violently engaging UN and NATO peacekeepers in protest.
