Utica, NY (02/20/2008) - Utica College’s Womyn’s Resource Center will kick off its celebration of Women’s History Month with its annual “In Celebration of Women” luncheon (Monday) March 3. Colgate University’s artist-in-residence and world-renowned soprano Neva Pilgrim will deliver the keynote address. This year’s theme is “Women’s Art, Women’s Vision.” Pilgrim will deliver her presentation “A Women’s Place Is…” at the celebration.

Pilgrim has recorded more than 20 records and CDs and performed with the New York Philharmonic and the Chicago Symphony. Critics have hailed her as an “enormously expressive artist” whose rich soprano voice has been described as “warm and elegant.” A native Minnesotan, Pilgrim earned degrees from Hameline and Yale Universities. She also studied at the Vienna Academy of Music on a Ditson Fellowship.

To make reservations for the luncheon, contact UC’s Womyn’s Resource Center at (315) 792-3327. Tickets are $15.

Event registration form is available online - see the calendar listing for this event >
