"Girls Fight Back" at UC


National Speaker to Give Interactive Seminar About Personal Safety

UC will take a stand against violence with special program April 25.

Utica, NY (04/23/2007) -

   Utica College will take a stand against violence with the popular “Girls Fight Back” program.
   The interactive self-defense program will take place Wednesday, April 25 at 7 p.m. in the Library Concourse. It is free and open to the public.
   The program’s speaker and creator, Erin Weed, is well versed in cutting-edge concepts of personal safety, self-defense, threat assessment and violence prevention. She has traveled the country with her program and has addressed more than 50,000 young women at more than 150 colleges and universities.
   Weed has been a guest on the Fox News show “The Lineup,” CNN’s “Paula Zahn Now,” and NBC’s “The John Walsh Show.” She has also been featured in such magazines as “Cosmo Girl,” “Ladies’ Home Journal,” “Marie Claire” and “Glamour.”
   The Inter Greek Council at UC is sponsoring this program with support from the residence hall association, student senate and campus safety.
