IRS Tax Institute Offered by UC This Month

UC, in conjunction with the IRS and NYS Department of Taxation, will hold a special institute for tax practitioners Dec. 12.

Utica, NY (12/07/2006) - Utica College, in conjunction with the IRS and the New York State Department of Taxation, will hold a special institute for tax practitioners.With the new year quickly approaching, this may be the last chance to brush up on tax law changes and updates for 2007 before the accounting begins.
The conference will be held at the Radisson Hotel-Utica Centre Tuesday, Dec. 12 from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., and will feature speakers from the IRS and New York State Department of Taxation, who will address tax law changes and updates for 2007.
Topics will include:
- New Legislation/Overview of 2006 Changes
- The Tax Gap
- The IRS Underreporter Program
- Issue Management Resolution System (IMRS)
- Burden Reduction Initiatives
- Employment Tax Issues
- Delinquent Taxes & Returns
- NYS Pension Subtraction Modification
- NYS Nonresident Telecommuter
- Corp Tax Electronic Filing
The course is worth four Continuing Professional Education Units (CPEs) for accountants. Registration of $140 per person includes resource materials, breakfast and a coffee break.
