International Human Rights Forum This Week


Human Rights and Constitution Issues of the Post-9/11 World to be Discussed

In recognition of Constitution Day, the Oneida County Bar Association, in cooperaiton with Utica College, will host a panel discussion.

Utica, NY (09/13/2006) -

An International Human Rights panel discussion, sponsored by the Oneida County Bar Association in cooperation with Utica College, will be held this Friday (Sept. 15) at 3 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel, Utica Centre.


This forum, which is free and open to the public, will address several human rights issues in today’s society.  The event was planned in recognition of Constitution Day, celebrating the anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787.


Guest speakers include Bert Lockwood Jr. and Theodore Orlin.  Lockwood is a Distinguished Service Professor of Law and director of the Urban Morgan Institute for Human Rights at the University of Cincinnati Law School.  Orlin is the Harold T. Clark Professor of Human Rights Scholarship and Advocacy at Utica College and president of the International Human Rights Education Consortium.
