UC Honors Top Students


Valedictorian, Salutatorian from PT and Math Majors

Utica College has announced the names of the two students who will receive the highest honors at the Commencement ceremony May 14.


This year’s valedictorian is Ashley F. Smith, health studies major in the physical therapy program. She began her career at Utica College in 2002, and will graduate with a GPA of 3.99. A graduate of Lawrence Central High School, she is the daughter of David Smith of Lewes, Del., and Louise Smith of Laurens, N.Y.


The salutatorian for this year’s class is Mary Stella Trzepacz, from Yorkville, N.Y. She graduated in December 2005, with a GPA of 3.97. She began at Utica College in 2002 as a math major, and was also a student director of the college’s math center. She is currently teaching at Mohawk Valley Community College, while working toward a graduate degree at Syracuse University. Trzepacz graduated from Notre Dame High School, where she was also class valedictorian. She is the daughter of Stanley and Marie Trzepacz of Yorkville.
