Utica College to Hold Commencement Sunday
Ceremonies Honor 429 Graduates at Utica Memorial Auditorium

Utica College will hold its 57th annual commencment ceremonies this Sunday. Actor and social activist Mike Farrell will deliver the keynote address.

Utica, NY (05/10/2006) - Utica College will hold commencement ceremonies for graduating students on Sunday, May 14 at 11 a.m. at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. A total of 429 students will receive their degrees, including 344 undergraduate and 85 graduate students.The commencement program will feature keynote speaker Mike Farrell, actor and social activist. Perhaps best known as B.J. Hunnicutt on the long-running television series “MASH,” Farrell has worked as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations and for CONCERN/America, an international refugee aid and development organization. An avid spokesperson on behalf of a number of social causes, Farrell has had a particular interest in human rights, which parallels Utica College’s longstanding commitment to human rights education.
Farrell will be awarded an honorary degree, doctor of laws, at the commencement.
Farrell’s speech will wrap up a series of events keeping with the college’s campus theme for this academic year, “Dissent in a Free Society.”
About Utica College – Founded in 1946, Utica College is a comprehensive private institution that grants the Syracuse University baccalaureate degree and the Utica College master’s and doctoral degrees. The College, located in central New York, approximately 90 miles west of Albany and 50 miles east of Syracuse, currently enrolls an approximated 2,300 undergraduate and 350 graduate students in 31 undergraduate majors, 24 minors, 12 master’s and two doctoral degree programs.
