Utica, NY (10/09/2014) - Utica College’s Office of Admissions will host an Open House on Saturday, Oct. 18, for prospective students and parents to learn more about the college, its programs and the UC experience.

The Open House, which will take place during UC’s Homecoming 2014: Alumni and Family Weekend, is the opportunity for students to see if UC is the right place for them.

“An open house is the perfect opportunity for prospective students to come explore the campus and meet with their personal admissions counselors and future faculty members,” said Donna Shaffner, assistant vice president for undergraduate admissions. “It is the best way for students to experience what life as a UC student is truly all about.”

In addition, visitors can attend presentations about the Utica College academic promise, financing a college education, and getting involved on campus.

“Parents and families are just as much a part of the college application process as the students,” said Shaffner. “Because of this, we have designed the program to be full of important information like financial assistance options, navigating the FAFSA application and handling the changing family dynamic that occurs during senior year.”

Attendees will also be able to take part in several Homecoming activities, including free admission to the Homecoming football game between Utica and St. John Fisher colleges.

To register for the event, or for more information about UC, contact admiss@utica.edu or call 315-792-3006 or 1-800-782-8884.
