Utica College’s Economic Crime and Justice Studies Speaker Series presents the premiere of the audio documentary “The Wrongful Conviction of and DNA Exoneration of Steven Barnes” on Wednesday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. in the ECJS Auditorium.

Barnes was convicted 20 years ago for murdering 16-year-old Kimberly Simon in 1985 and, with the help of the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office and The Innocence Project, was exonerated of that charge in 2008 through DNA testing.

Following the documentary, Barnes and his mother will be available for a question and answer session.

The documentary was produced by Geoff Storm, creative service director of Town Square Media Incorporated. Storm is a 2006 graduate of Utica College.

For more information, contact Raymond Philo, research director of the Economic Crime and Justice Studies department, at (315) 223-2483.
