Utica, NY (03/17/2011) - On Friday, March 25, Utica College and the Central New York Area Health Education Center (CNYAHEC) will host their first annual health care conference at the Turning Stone Casino. The conference, “Managing Transition in Health Care: Leadership for Today, Tomorrow and the Future,” will give health care professionals a new perspective on changes to health care, as well as strategies how to best adjust to those changes.Matthew Smith, regional talent director for the Central Region of Lee Hecht Harrison, will give the keynote address, “Leading Change in Health Care.” His speech will touch on three key points: legislative changes and how health care executives can adjust to those changes; showing what successful change looks like; and how to lead change in a team though personal behavior.
“Hopefully this will provide some direction on where to focus, what they can change, and how to be most effective,” Smith said.
Lee Hecht Harrison helps businesses reorganize their leadership to create a better work environment. Prior to this position, Smith worked for Aon Consulting, where he collaborated with a variety of Fortune 500 organizations in solving many different human resources issues.
Anthony Joseph, administrator of the Presbyterian Home for Central New York, will speak on “Leadership through Collaboration: Telemedicine and Innovative Technology Solutions,” focusing on the importance of collaboration in the health care industry in order to advance innovative services.
“I’m hoping that this presentation will give opportunities to those professionals and students that attend and provide them with ideas that have not been available, whether due to technology or a lack of expertise,” Joseph said.
