Utica, NY (09/19/2012) - Brittany Heck and Caitin Jacobs, two Utica College graduate students, submitted the winning entry in the New York State Occupational Therapy Association (NYSOTA) Promotion Contest.

Heck and Jacobs are students in the Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy (MSOT). The brochure they designed was a part of an advocacy assignment for their Professional Roles I: Development class. The sections of the brochure included a description for occupational therapy, the benefits of occupational therapy, and information about the NYSOTA.

Both students received scholarships to attend the NYSOTA 2012 Conference in Rochester.

The NYSOTA strives to support professional ethics and discipline, advance evidence-based research and education in occupational therapy, and promote the standing of occupational therapy as a viable profession in New York State, working with lobbyists, lawyers and legislators.
