
Coronavirus (COVID-19) On-Campus Housing Information
This page serves as a location for updates and information regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) as they pertain to living in campus housing at Utica College.
The Office of Student Living and College Engagement, along with the Office of Emergency Management and other offices on campus, are closely monitoring how the evolving situation affects our campus community. We will provide more information here as it becomes available.

The Office of Student Living and College Engagement may be informed that a student needs to isolate or quarantine themselves based on guidance from the Health Center, Office of Emergency Management, Oneida County, or New York State.
In this event, the Office of Student Living and College Engagement will implement the following process:
- Students will be moved to isolation/quarantine housing in Burrstone House.
- All students will have access to:
- Virtual telehealth through the health center
- A Student Living and College Engagement staff member that will serve as their liaison during their isolation or quarantine
- Three meals a day that are delivered from Sodexo
- You must be released by the Student Health Center before being allowed back to your permanent housing assignment.
- Your fall housing assignment will be held for you while in isolation or quarantine
- You may be subject to additional testing during isolation or quarantine
- All students will have access to:
*Students are encouraged to have a “go-bag” packed and ready should they be required to isolate or quarantine at any time during the semester. For more information on what to have in this “go-bag” please see the next section.

In these uncertain times, the possibility exists that you may test positive and/or be asked to quarantine or isolate yourselves.
We recommend having a pre-packed Quarantine bag in your room. This “go-bag” should include:
- Extra cell phone charger
- List of important peoples’ phone numbers written out, and a list of any allergies
- Clothes for 14 days: comfy clothes; sweats, PJ pants, T's
- Linens and Bedding
- Cough Drops
- Tylenol to bring fever down, help with aches
- Vicks VapoRub
- Mucinex DM or Robitussin Cough & Chest Congestion
- Thermometer
- Body lotion, Feminine hygiene, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, hair brush, hair ties
- Prescription meds
- Tissues
- Snacks
- Masks
- Optional entertainment needs such as a book, sudoku, puzzle, etc.
The Office of Student Living and College Engagement, in conjunction with the Office of Emergency Management, have altered the following policies from the Housing Agreement:
- Eating/Drinking in Residence Halls:
- For everyone’s safety, until further notice, eating and drinking is prohibited in the hallways, lounges, and other common areas of the residence halls. You can only eat/drink in your residence hall room when only you and your assigned roommate(s) are present.
- Mask Policy:
- Masks are to be worn at all times on the UC Campus when inside buildings and when outside if within 6-feet of another person. The only exceptions to this rule are:
- The dining hall, when seated and actively eating
- If you reside on campus, when inside your personal residence hall room without visitors and/or a UC employee present (RAs, ACs, Facilities,

- Guest Policy:
- No Guests from other buildings (for PV: this includes section to section) or off-campus.
- When guests from other rooms within your residence hall are present in your room EVERYONE must be wearing a mask at all times!

- Any Single Bedroom - 3 people (including resident)
- Any Double Bedroom - 4 people (including resident)
- 3-Person Suite - 5 people (including resident)
- 4-Person Suite - 6 people (including resident)
- 5-Person Suite - 7 people (including resident)
- 6-Person Suite - 8 people (including resident)
- 7-Person Suite - 9 people (including resident)
