Walsh collected one goal and one assist

UTICA, NY –The Utica College women’s soccer team defeated host Potsdam State 4-1 Wednesday night in non-conference action.

Utica shot out to a 3-0 lead on goals from Sarah Richards (Stafford/Stafford, CT), Kerry Walsh (Franklin/Franklin, MA), and Tessa Malcarne (Valley/Deep River, CT). Walsh also assisted on the final goal of the first half.

Utica came out with the same intensity in the second half and found the back of the net in the seventy third minute to take a commanding 4-0 lead. Tessa Lesar (Mechanicville/Mechanicville) scored the Pioneers fourth and final goal.

Ashley Kaufman (Northern Lights (CT)/Enfield, CT) recorded another stellar game between the posts recording over sixty-five minutes of shut out play.

Utica (2-1) will return to action Monday at 4:00 p.m. against host SUNYIT.
