DOHERTY AND GONZALES FINALISTS FOR RBK DIVISION III ALL-AMERICAN TEAM

Senior goalie Jill Doherty (Wellesley, Ma.) and junior forward Lynny Gonzales (Rochester, N.Y.), of the Utica College women’s hockey team, have been named to the ECAC Women’s West All-Conference Second Team, and are also finalists for the RBK Division III All-American team. This is the first time Doherty and Gonzales received all-conference honors.

#1 PLATTSBURGH BOUNCES UTICA FROM CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT

The Utica College women's hockey team, making its ninth consecutive appearance in the ECAC Women's West Conference Tournament, lost to host and top seeded Plattsburgh state 5-2 in the semi-final game of the conference tournament Saturday. After falling behind 2-0 the Pioneers netted two straight goals in a span of eight minutes to tie the score at 2-2 midway through the second period. Tiffany Bichrest and Jodie Galluzzi netted the Pioneers' goals. Plattsburgh, the No. 1 team in the nation, went on to score three unanswered goals to earn the victory. Senior all-conference goalie Jill Doherty capped her senior season with 46 saves marking the fifth time in her career that she has totaled 40 or more saves in a single game.

PIONEERS TRAVEL TO NO. 1 PLATTSBURGH SATURDAY

The Utica College women’s hockey team defeated fifth seeded Neumann University on Monday night and has earned a berth in the ECAC West semi-finals. The Pioneers will travel to nationally-ranked No. 1 Plattsburgh State Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Stafford Ice Arena in Plattsburgh. Click FULL STORY for a link to live stats.
